The success story of Suriya

This is Suriya, one of the children living in The Island of Hope. Suriya was born in Chennai on the 18th of January 2004 and led a very happy life until his father died in a car accident. Suriya was then only one year old. His mother neglected to take good care of him and she started a new life with another man who did not accepted Suriya. His mother deserted Suriya and no-one was taking care of the young child. One of the members of the women Self Help Groups knew the situation of the child and brought him to the orphanage in 2006. From then onwards he has been living in The Island of Hope. He is much healthier now and he makes great progress at nursery school. He feels happy! He has a home, people who take good care of him and a lot of brothers and sisters.
